Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect or suspects who caused damage to numerous grave monuments and concrete vase holders at the a Puna cemetery.

Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect or suspects who caused damage to numerous grave monuments and concrete vase holders at the a Puna cemetery.

On April 21, a caretaker at Kapoho Zairyumin Kai Japanese Cemetery on Kapoho Lighthouse Road discovered that the monuments and concrete vase holders were tampered with or damaged.

The damage occurred sometime between April 10 and April 21. The preliminary damage estimate is approximately $4,200.

Anyone with information is asked to call the police nonemergency line at 935-3311 or Crime Stoppers at 961-8300.
